Steven Kouris, D.O.

Dr. Steven Kouris is a physician executive with board certification and training in multiple areas of healthcare, but with a focus on brain health throughout the life cycle.

He is currently medical director at a neuro-habilitation center, a drug treatment center, and a genetic testing company measuring the effects of environmental toxicities, as well as psychiatric consultant to community agencies caring for the disabled.

Dr. Kouris is retired from a career at the University of Illinois, during which he taught medical students; conducted research; managed a hospital, a clinic, and an Easter Seals therapeutic school; completed forensic evaluations; and cared for patients and their families at outpatient clinics including the Veterans Administration.

Rising to the rank of professor and department chairman at teh medical school, he participarted in the regional effort to train the next generation of primary care doctors for the under-served areas of rural America.

Dr. Kouris has received awards for his leadership, clinical teaching, mentorship, and community service.
