• Watercolors with Roxanne Taison:  Monday, August 4 (9:30am – 12pm): $20 members/$30 non-members.  Develop your watercolor skills with artist Roxanne Tobiason! This workshop is great for beginners who want to explore watercolors as a medium, as well as for more experienced painters who want to practice watercolor techniques. In a paint-along format, Roxanne will guide you step-by-step and help you build colors layer-by-layer as you create a watercolor painting of a serene Florida beach scene. Pre-registration REQUIRED! • Wire Art Jewelry with Debra Joy Peisner: Monday, August 4 (12:30 – 2:30pm) $10 members/$12 non-members. Learn how to wire-frame a stone to make a pendant. LEC FIELD TRIP!

• On Tuesday, August 12, 2025 (10am-1pm), join a special docent-led tour of four of the current exhibitions at the Tampa Museum of Art. Cost: $15 for anyone age 65+. • BOOK CLUB 2.0 JULY MEETING: Read or listen to Murder on the Red River by Marcie R. Rendon, then join the discussion on Monday, July 28 (10am -12pm). You can find the book at your local library or purchase it online. (Note: This novel may have content not suitable for all readers.)

• CANOE HAIKU? On Thursdays from 10:30am – 12pm the Poetry class meets online and in person. The topic for this week is “Can You Haiku?“. No experience necessary. Register online HERE, or you can email info@LECtampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or sign up in person.

LEC Member Art on Display

• COMMEMORATIVE ART EXHIBITION: If you applied to submit art to the L.E.C.’s Commemorative Art Exhibition, please bring in your piece as soon as possible if you have not already done so. Also, if you have art currently on display at the L.E.C., please stop by to pick it up.

• ART EXHIBITION RECEPTION:  The Commemorative Art Exhibition Reception will be on Friday, August 8 from 5-7pm. Come celebrate with us!

• “WOVEN IN WAX” ART EXHIBIT: From July 25 – September 5, Pinellas Ale Works, in conjunction with Funky As A Monkey Studios, hosts “Woven in Wax“. This new exhibit features works by award-winning local abstract artist, L.E.C. member, and art instructor, Francine Bauer. Stop by PAW and check out her art! Special Opportunity

• L.E.C. members, Pat & Dave Beebe, will be taking a unique, mechanic-guided of the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum in Pinellas Park and invite others to join them. On Tuesday, August 5th, the museum is opening its doors to twelve participants for a guided tour of the museum and the restoration shop from 10am until noon. Admission is $30.
