Weekly News: June 30 – July 4
The Life Enrichment Center will be CLOSED on Friday, July 4 in honor of Independence Day. Friday classes will NOT meet that day. Classes will resume on Monday, July 7 at their regular times EXCEPT Painting with Rick. Rick’s classes resume on Friday, July 11 (Drawing) & Monday, July 14 (Painting).
JUNE POTLUCK: Wednesday July 2, noon – 1pm
Enjoy food with friends before the July 4th weekend. Bringing red, white, and/or blue food is optional.
- YARN ARTS CLUB TIME SHIFT: On Wednesday, July 2, the Yarn Arts Club will meet from 9:30am – 11am.
- MAH JONGG TIME SHIFT: On Wednesday, July 2, Intermediate/Advanced Open Play Mah Jongg will meet from 1:30- 4pm..

- Beginning Wire Wrapping with Zan & Jo: Tuesday, July 8 (1-3pm) $15 members/$20 non-members. Supplies provided. No experience necessary. Practice the basics of wire wrapping for jewelry-making while creating & designing lovely, decorative hair pins. Great as gifts or for yourself! - Colored Pencils with Mark Menendez: Saturday, July 19 (10am – 3pm) $65 members/$80 non-members. Supplies provided. No experience necessary. The techniques learned in this workshop can also be applied to other media like pastels. Great for beginners! - RESCHEDULED! Quilling on Canvas will NOT meet on Monday, June 30. It is rescheduled for Monday, September 15.
- BOOK CLUB 2.0 JUNE MEETING: Read or listen to Blowing the Bloody Doors Off and Other Life Lessons, a memoir by award-winning actor Michael Caine, then join the discussion on Monday, June 30 (10am -12pm). You can find the book at your local library or purchase it online. (Note: This memoir may have content not suitable for all readers.) - GAME ON! The new Games Club meets on Tuesdays from 1-3 pm ($0/$5). Train dominos will be the featured game. It is a fun, and easy-to-learn variation of dominos. No experience necessary.
- THOU ART A POET (You just might not know it.): On Thursdays from 10:30am – 12pm the Poetry class meets online and in person. The topic for this week is “Thou Art a Poet: Sonnets and the Sound of Rhyme”. No experience necessary. - RESERVE YOUR SEAT: Sign-up sheets are available at the LEC for July and August workshops. Make sure you stop by the next time you are in the building! Some are filling up fast, so sign up to reserve your seat.

- DONATIONS NEEDED: Napkins (for potlucks), paper towels, Lysol wipes, Ziploc bags (snack, sandwich, and gallon size), large black trash bags, individual bottles of water.
- VOLUNTEER AT THE LEC: Volunteers are needed for 2-hour shifts throughout the week. If you are interested or would like more information, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or let us know in person.
- OUTREACH INSTRUCTORS NEEDED! One day per month, you would lead a paint-along class at a location in Tampa, Temple Terrace, Wimauma, or Plant City. Training is provided. Email info@lectampa.org or call (813) 932-0241 for more information or to become an outreach instructor.
